AJ Griffies is a Senior User Experience Researcher at Workiva with 8+ years of tangible, applied user experience research work experience at enterprise organizations including IBM, Lenovo, and AWS.

Driven by a need to understand and help others through design, they conduct strategic and exploratory research. Their creative, collaborative, and mixed methods approach to conducting research has helped them tackle many complex subject areas - from how parents and children collaborate to shop for computers for school, to how generative AI can help mainframe operators troubleshoot and maintain their systems.

AJ has a passion for helping others grow their UX careers. They began mentoring new-to-industry UXers in late 2022.

Outside of work, AJ enjoys long walks with their Swedish Vallhund dog. They love watching movies and listening to vinyl records.
